Exhibition Proposal

Statement

This is an interactive exhibition with the primary focus on teaching children about contemporary art.
The works in this show serve as an educational gesture towards making art more accessible. It is
not limited to children only; all audiences of all ages are welcome.

Works

Interactive Game - This is a computer game created with Unity 3D that places the player in an a
virtual art gallery. The player interacts with various artworks in the game in order to learn
about them. It will serve as a timeline of contemporary art. A laptop, keyboard, mouse, projector,
and pedestal will be required for installation.

Interviews - This video piece consists of interviews with children, art teachers, and artists who are
asked about their views on contemporary art and how to raise awareness of it. I ask students and teachers
alike how much they know about present-day art and what they're interested in. This video will also be
projected on a wall or perhaps be a television installation.

Coloring Pages - Coloring pages will be provided for children to either create their own artwork or to add
their creative touches to various modern artworks. There will be several tables created by me that provide
paper, crayons, markers, and colored pencils for children to use.

Lists - At the entrance of the exhibition, there will be a list that inquires visitors to write their age and
name an artist they are familiar with. When the audience leaves the show, there will be another list that asks
the same questions. This could serve as a barometer of the audience's knowledge of contemporary art. Two pedestals
and pens will be provided. These lists may also be used as a guestbook.

Art Tree - This is going to be a wooden tree with a lot of branches that will allow visitors to attach their drawings.
The audience is free to attach the drawings they created with the coloring books or post anything they'd like to make.
Art Tree will serve as a unifying piece that ties in all the other works in the exhibition together.
